William Martinez Obituary

William Jene Martinez, a man of analytical mind and adventurous spirit, passed away peacefully on February 12, 2024, at the age of 67. Born on November 14, 1956, in Fairbanks, Alaska, to Nestor and Wilma (Spencer) Martinez. William's life was marked by his intelligent approach to challenges and his commitment to service. He served honorably in the United States Army for 15 years before continuing his dedication to the country in the Michigan National Guard for an additional 12 years before retiring. His sense of duty was paralleled by his involvement in the community as a lifetime member of the Masonic Lodge in Lawton, Oklahoma, an American Legion member of Allegan, Michigan, and Chairman of the Board of Boy Scout Troop 91 of Allegan, Michigan for several years. William also dedicated 17 years of his career to Tiara Yachts in Holland, Michigan, where his meticulous work ethic was highly valued.

Beyond his professional and service-oriented endeavors, William was a man who cherished the simple pleasures of life. He had a passion for traveling the world and finding unique collectibles during his travels.  Above all, William's heart was most full when he was spending quality time with his family and grandchildren.

William's legacy is carried on by his loving children, Crystal (Christian) Trejo, Katie (Brian) Lacitignola, and Benjamin (Jessica Ausra) Martinez; his devoted siblings, Peggy Crabtree, Nestor Martinez, and Mary Enloe; and his adored grandchildren, Aliyah, Jeremiah, Isaac, Emmanuel, and Ehlana.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Deborah Martinez, his parents, Nestor and Wilma (Spencer) Martinez, and sister, Linda.

William's life was a testament to the values of loyalty, curiosity, and intelligence. His memory will continue to inspire those who knew him, and his stories will be told with fondness and admiration for generations to come. William Jene Martinez will be deeply missed, but his indelible imprint on the world will never fade.
