Tyler Mark Johnson, 32, of Gobles, Michigan, passed away Thursday, December 29, 2022 at Bronson Lakeview Hospital in Paw Paw, Michigan. Born April 12, 1990 in Fargo, North Dakota, he was the son of Marty and Vicki (Togstad) Johnson and the husband of Cassey Lee (McPherson) Johnson. He grew up in Fargo for three years before he moved with his family to their home farm in Horace, North Dakota. In 1992 his sister Crystal was born and they enjoyed living on the farm together. Tyler attended school in Kindred, North Dakota and was active in sports, cub scouts and boy scouts. Tyler enjoyed hunting with his father and watching scary movies with his mom. He graduated from Kindred High School in 2008 and made friends there that lasted a lifetime. After high school he attended University of Mary in Bismarck, North Dakota and graduated in 2012. He moved to Michigan where he met Cassey, the love of his life. Tyler and Cassey were married on May 20, 2017. To this marriage was born a beautiful, blue-eyed daughter named Brecken in 2019. Tyler was an amazing father whose world revolved around his daughter. Being the amazing father that Tyler was, granting Brecken's every wish in life was his greatest pleasure. Even when it involved guinea pigs, mini horses and dogs. The Johnson's made their home in Gobles, Michigan and enjoyed taking care of their horses, camping, traveling, and enjoying the outdoors.
Anyone that knew Tyler, knew his love for any and all sports. Especially his Denver Broncos. He had favorite teams for just about any sport such as, North Dakota State University for college football, Minnesota Twins for baseball, Pittsburgh Penguins for Hockey, and Michigan State for basketball.
Tyler was one of those people who was liked by everyone. The close-knit group of friends that Tyler, or 'BT', kept for years after school and his close family ties is just a small testament to his kindness and impact on others. His giving nature and gentle spirit will be missed greatly by all who know him, but we will never forget his amazing smile, his positive personality and kind heart, or his passion in taking care of others. He will be greatly missed by all those he knew and touched countless lives with his kindness.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Cassey and daughter, Brecken (Gobles, Michigan); parents, Marty and Vicki Johnson (Kindred, North Dakota); sister and brother-in-law, Crystal and Bailey Gast (Abercrombie, North Dakota); mother- and father-in-law, Kelly and Joe Sherwood (Gobles, Michigan); brother-in-law, Cody (Elizabeth) McPherson and their daughter, Maddison; father-in-law, Richard McPherson; Todd (Jennifer) Edson and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Goodwin and Donna Johnson; maternal grandparents, Dale and Dorothy Togstad; Uncle Jerry Togstad; and Aunt Susie Bachmier.
