Robin Sue Vaughn, 64 of Pullman, Michigan, passed away Friday, May 19, 2023 at Holland Hospital. Born July 28, 1958 in South Haven, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Phyllis (Gould) Pensinger. Robin was a caring and generous person who became a Registered Nurse and loved working in the OB department, bringing new life into the world. She had a love for the simple things in life and appreciated being surrounded by nature, watching the birds at her birdfeeder, especially the hummingbirds. Breeding and riding horses was her passion. Being the cowgirl she was, she had a love for horses and she enjoyed riding and seeing the countryside. Robin was also a very empathetic woman and a breast cancer survivor. Taking time to be there for others came easily to Robin. She especially loved spending time with her family, enjoying cookouts and time together. She and Rich were able to spend the last few winters in Florida where they loved being in the sunshine! Her beautiful spirit is genuinely missed.
Left to cherish her memory is her partner, Rich Ponstein; her children, Phillip (Tina) O’Flynn, Jessica Stratton, Kristin (Johnathon) Davy, Michael J. Vaughn; and her partner’s children, Mari Joe (Matt) Degraf, Michael (Jennifer) Ponstein, and Nick (Stephanie) Ponstein; her three siblings, Betty (Denny) Herrera, Becky Roberts, and Carla Cagle; 14 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Along with her parents, Robin was preceded in death by her son, Shawn Pensinger; and three siblings, Nelda Rice, Andy Coffee, and Dott Washegesic.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, at which time the funeral service will begin. Robin will be laid to rest in Lacota Cemetery, Geneva Township. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Robin’s name to the Betty Ford Breast Cancer Center (145 Michigan St NW, Grand Rapids, MI 49503) or the Allegan County Horse Trails FACETS (rndemol@att.net).
