Richard Leroy Conklin

Richard Leroy Conklin, 76, of Allegan, MI passed away Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at Ascension Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo.  Born November 8, 1946 in Gladwin County, MI, he was the son of the late Roscoe Eugene and Virgiline Ruth (Erway) Conklin and was the husband of Peggy Ann (Dillon) Conklin.  Richard had worked for fifty-three years as a Lineman for IBEW Local Union 876.  His career took him out of state many times over the years, even as far as Alaska.  In his younger years, Richard was quite a pool shark and had competed in many tournaments downtown.  Later in life he enjoyed relaxing fishing in the many lakes the area has to offer.

In addition to Peggy, his wife of over fifty-six years, Richard is survived by his children, Tonya Marie Conklin and Quinn Lee Conklin; and a granddaughter, Dillon RuthAnn Cuffaro.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Roscoe and Virgiline; and his sisters, Barbara Conklin and Billie Strickland.

In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held privately at a later date.
