R. Marvin Saye

R. Marvin Saye, 87 of Gobles, Michigan, passed away Sunday, January 29, 2023 at the Wings Home in Allegan.  Born June 10, 1935 in South Haven, Michigan, he was the son of the late Russell and Florence (Cody) Saye and the husband of the late Molly (McNutt) Saye. Marv’s main career was farming. He was also employed at Rockwell International before retiring in 1997. He then spent many years driving trucks for various companies.  In his spare time, Marv loved to be out among nature and enjoyed fishing, gardening, and hunting.  Marv was a member of Merson Church and served on the Board for many years. Marv and Molly celebrated 62 years of marriage until her death in 2019.  The two of them had a special bond throughout their married years and always loved being together, taking care of one another. Marv was a kind and giving father, grandfather and great-grandfather, always showering love on his family. 

Surviving are his daughter, Karen (Gary) Brinks; his sister, Marilyn (Hank) Barber; his brother, Bill Saye; four granddaughters, Shannon (Patrick) Murphy, Ellen (John) Taylor, Emile (Brian) Hubley, and Erin Brinks; and several great-grandchildren.

Along with his wife and his parents, Marv was preceded in death by his son, Dennis Saye.

Friends may meet with the family on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at Merson Church from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM, at which time the Funeral Service will begin, Pastor Don Miller and Pastor Alan Carson Sr. to co-officiate.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Wings Home at 530 Linn Street, Allegan, MI 49010 or Merson Church at 3313 102nd Avenue, Gobles, MI 49055. Marv will be laid to rest in Mallory Cemetery, Trowbridge Township.  Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, is assisting the family with arrangements.
