Lori Sue (Querbach) Yonkman

Lori Sue (Querbach) Yonkman, 66 of Lawton, Michigan (formerly of Allegan, Michigan), passed away Friday, July 28, 2023, at White Oaks in Lawton, Michigan with her family by her side.  Born August 8, 1956, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late Rex and Mavis (Hagerman) Querbach and the wife of the late James Yonkman.  Lori was a loving and caring person who enjoyed volunteering her time to help others.  When her children were small, she would make sure to be involved in various activities at the school, as well as fundraisers to assist the kids and school.  Knowing how much need there was for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Lori organized a fundraiser in Kalamazoo for the hospital.  When she wasn’t working or helping others, Lori enjoyed gardening, playing bingo or going bowling.  She had a “gift for gab” and thoroughly enjoyed staying in touch with family and friends.  Her kind nature and giving spirit were a blessing to the lives she touched. 

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Jenny (Anthony) Bangma and Sonny Yonkman; her granddaughter, Harper Yonkman; her grandson, Charles Yonkman; brother, Craig Querbach; and her niece and three nephews.  Along with her parents, Rex and Mavis; and her husband, James; Lori was preceded in death by her sister, Dianna Bittner.

Friends may meet with the family at Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, on Wednesday, August 2, 2023, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM.  A private graveside service will be held at Hudson Corners Cemetery, Allegan Township.
