Jerry Allen Larson

Jerry Allen Larson, 82 of Allegan, Michigan, passed away Friday, March 17, 2023 at his home with his family by his side.  He was born April 22, 1940, in DeKalb, Illinois, the son of the late Melvin and Ada (Drury) Larson.  Jerry proudly served in the US Air Force before his employment for many years as a salesman for IDEAL Industries, Inc.  He later became the owner and operator of Allegan Bottle Gas before his retirement.  He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, hosting fun-filled gatherings, or traveling.  Jerry was rarely seen without a smile; he had a generous heart and love for others throughout his 82 years.  Being an avid golfer, Jerry loved his time on the golf course and participated in many leagues and tournaments over the years.  Jerry loved any activity that brought people together and made life more enjoyable!  He was blessed to have a wonderful wife and loving family to share life with, and he did his best to make every day count. 

Those left to cherish their memories of Jerry are his loving wife of 28 years, Janet Dickerson; four children, Steve (Tandy) Larson, Chris Larson, Erica (Tom) Miller and Kristin DeKam; two grandchildren, Madeline Miller (fiancé Caleb Trayer) and Adam Miller; one brother, James Larson: brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; and many nieces and nephews. 

Along with his parents and his first wife, Ginny, Jerry was preceded in death by four siblings, Bernice, Vernon, Carol, Velma and June.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, May 27, 2023 at The Silo (1071 32nd Street, Allegan, MI 49010) from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM.  Memorial donations may be made in Jerry’s name to Wings of Hope Hospice, 530 Linn Street, Allegan, Michigan 49010.  The family wishes to thank Wings of Hope Hospice for their excellent care during Jerry’s illness.
