Gayle Lynn Reed-Hurlbut

Gayle Lynn Reed-Hurlbut, 64 of Allegan, Michigan, passed away Saturday, April 15, 2023 at her home surrounded by her loved ones.  Born July 26, 1958, in Allegan, Michigan, she was the daughter of David and Shirley (Hellenthal) Reed.  Gayle was a fun-loving gal who was known to many as the “Tie-Dye Queen.”  She was outgoing and always had a kind word for others.  Working in the nursing home, her true caregiving nature always came through.  She was the type of person who never missed wishing someone a happy birthday or happy anniversary.  In her spare time, she enjoyed reading and crocheting.  Growing up Gayle enjoyed her horse and spending time riding.  As she got older, she got a dog, Demon, whom she loved dearly.  Spending time with her family was what meant the most to Gayle.  Her children and grandchildren love the memories that they all created together and will cherish their time together.

Honoring and cherishing Gayle’s memory are her parents, David and Shirley Reed; her children, Maurisa Leslie, Natesha Hurlbut, and Shenea Hurlbut; three aunts; one uncle; 10 grandchildren; two siblings, Kevin (Paula) Reed and Rick (Angela) Reed; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial donations may be made in Gayle’s name to the American Cancer Society (https://www.cancer.org/) at P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741 to help cancer research.  A Celebration of Life for Gayle will be held at a later date.
