David Michael Martin

David Michael Martin, 71, of Allegan, MI passed away Monday, March 11, 2024 at his home.  Born December 8, 1952 in Lansing, he was the son of the late David L. and Margaret (Rivas) Martin and was the husband of Mary (Johnson) Martin.  David had been a veteran of the United States Navy.  He worked for twenty years as an appliance repairman and worked for another twenty as a truckdriver.  David also had been a volunteer fireman for the Clyde Township Fire Department for several years.  He loved taking care of his hostas and raising fish in his pond and aquariums.  Along with his fish, David raised exotic birds and enjoyed their company.   In his later years he enjoyed puzzles and his grandchildren.  David loved his Lord and Savior and was looking forward to being with Jesus.  John 3:16 was his favorite verse.

In addition to Mary, his wife of 47 years, David is survived by his daughter, Tanya Maurer; brother, Robin (Pam) Martin; grandchildren, Brycen Heckman, Aubrielle Maurer and Sawyer Maurer; and his niece, Rebecca Baley.  Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, David R. Martin; his sister, Carol (RG) Peck; and his nephew, Marty Peck.

The family will receive friends at Allegan Bible Church on Friday, March 22, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM.  A memorial service will begin at 12:00 PM at the church.  Burial will follow at Hudson Corners Cemetery with Military Honors rendered by the Otsego VFW Post 3030.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Allegan Bible Church, 412 Sherman Street, Allegan, MI 49010; or Wings of Hope Hospice, 530 Linn Street, Allegan, MI 49010.
