August 11, 2023, Vahalla welcomed it's warrior Courtney Whitaker Bockstanz. "Where the brave shall live forever."
Courtney was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend to so very many. His smile and generous spirit shines on us all. He truly loved his friends as his family.
Courtney was a fierce patriot and served in the Army as a Tank Commander, aboard an M-60 A3. Courtney received the Army service ribbon, Overseas Service ribbon, Marksmanship Badge (.45 caliber) and Good Conduct Medal.
Courtney loved old cars and collected many. Camping, two- tracking the roads and trails of Allegan Forest were hobbies he enjoyed immensely. He had many stories of his travels all over the US and Europe, when in the Army.
His is greatly loved and missed by his family, and is survived by his loving wife, Tammy; his mother and stepfather, Sue (Hugh) Hall; daughter, Neva (Mario) Allegretti; sons, Levon (Cierra) Bockstanz and Max Bockstanz; seven beautiful grandchildren; three step children, Rachael, Jacob and Luke; sisters, Darcy (Tom) Layman and Hazen Ragland; aunt, Cathy Cleland; two nieces, Heather and Alyssa; nephews, Carl(Missy) Layman, Chris Layman, Elliott and Rhys Ragland; and a great niece and great nephew.
Graveside service at Fort Custer, and celebration of life at his residence to follow. Dates forthcoming.
In lieu of flowers, donations would be greatly appreciated to go towards cremation services. " Wyrd bid ful araed" Fate is inexorable.
