Anita (Bowen) Braymer

Anita (Bowen) Braymer was born on "Mother's Day" May 11, 1931 and she passed on April 7, 2023 on her husband’s birthday. She was the daughter of Clyde Arthur Bowen and Ethel Leona (Thompson) Bowen and was born in their family home in Comstock, Michigan.  Anita graduated from Comstock High School where she met and married her high school sweetheart, George W. Braymer Jr. "Bud" on September 16, 1950.  In 1956 they moved to their dream woods/lake/place on Sherman Lake in Richland, Michigan. They built their home by the lake and raised floral and vegetable gardens.  Anita loved animals, gardening, canning and cooking for her family.  She and her husband, George, made a warm and loving life for their children at the home on the lake.  Their lake home held so many wonderful memories and was a place of comfort to them both, that when George became ill, Anita brought him home from the hospital to allow him to die in his own bed looking at the lake on September 13, 1993, with Anita by his side.

Anita is survived by her 3 children, Linda Ann (Bryan) Western of DeTour Michigan, and their two children, Diane (Chad) Druckenmiller and Anita Western; Diane Goodman, and her partner Dale Carter of Allegan, Michigan; and George W. Braymer III of Portage, Michigan and his beloved dog "Sunshine".   Memorial donations may be made in Anita’s name to your local Humane Society.
