Willis Riksen, aged 84, of Monterey Twp., Allegan, MI, died Wednesday, May 1, 2002 at the Allegan County Medical Care Facility. Mr. Riksen was born Dec. 1, 1917 in Monterey Twp., the son of Ryk and Gertie (Bangor) Riksen. He was a member of the Hopkins United Methodist Church and had been a lifetime farmer and milk hauler. He had served as Monterey Twp. Supervisor, on the Allegan County Board of Supervisors, the Allegan County Dept. of Public Works, and on the Board of the Allegan Co. Road Commission for 18 years. Surviving are 2 children, Bill and Joan Riksen of Hopkins and Janice DeVries of Grandville; 1 son-in-law, Gordon (Rebecca) Raymond of Hixson, TN; 8 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Florence, on Feb. 4, 2002; daughter, Kay Raymond; 3 brothers and 1 sister. Friends may meet with the family from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Friday at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Hopkins Chapel, where funeral services will be held Saturday at 3 p.m. Pastor Reva Daniel officiating.
