William R. Snyder, Sr., 74 of Allegan, died Friday, June 6, 2003 at his home. Mr. Snyder was born March 23, 1929 in Allegan, MI the son of Francis and Margaret (Riksen) Schneider. He retired from Rock Tenn Paper Mill in 1991 and was a member of Watson Bible Church. Surviving are his wife, Charlotte, whom he married on June 26, 1948 in Chicago, IL, 7 children and their spouses, William & Jan Snyder, Jr, David & Cheryl Snyder, George Snyder, Margaret & Edward Mottor, John & Connie Snyder, Martha Miller, Timothy & Lisa Snyder; 30 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 11 brothers and sisters, Gertrude Walker, Francis Schneider, Albert Schneider, Elaine Schneider, Robert Schneider, Betty Schneider, Ruth Schneider, Jackie Peck, Dale Schneider, Danny Schneider, Kathy Garrett; many step brothers, step sisters, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 child, 5 grandchildren, and 2 brothers. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, where services will be held Monday 1:00 pm. Pastors James Collison and Robert Rushing officiating. Interment Miner Cemetery, Watson Township. Memorial contributions may be made to Wings of Hope Hospice or the American Cancer Society.
