William L. Schell, Sr., 87 of Allegan, died Thursday, January 20, 2005 at his home. Mr. Schell was born February 17, 1917 in Lum, MI the daughter of Almond & Hazel Schell. He had been a member of the Eagles since 1945. Surviving are 4 children, Alma & Don Ploof of Allegan, Bill Schell of Memphis, TN, Jess & Julie Schell of Allegan, Betty & Dennis Kuhn of Kalamazoo; 22 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 3 brothers, Chuck & Marie Irons of Gladwin, Clare Irons of Houghton Lake, Jim Irons of Owosso; 1 sister, Ethel Newball of Flint; a good friend, Alice Kates of Allegan; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley; 1 son, Gerald; 1 grandson, Jamie; and 2 sisters, Louise and Charlotte. The family will receive friends Monday from 9:00 am until time of funeral service at 11:00 am at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel. Pastor Nathan Kelch officiating. Interment Hudson Corners Cemetery, Allegan Township.
