William (Bill) Root, 88, of Allegan went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, December 15, 2025. He was born June 24, 1937 in Douglas, MI. Bill was the son of Charles Root and Marie Dubas Carlson, and brother to Elmer Jr. and Maxine. After graduating from Fennville High School, Bill joined the Navy and married the love of his life Joan Kwiatkowski. They have 2 daughters, Cynthia (Michael) Stone and Diana Root; 5 grandchildren, Nathan Root (deceased), Sarah (Jordan) Jonker, Hannah (Jordan) VanDyk, Alexander Root, and Matthew Stone; and 5 great-grandchildren, Kane Jonker, River Jonker, Noa Jonker, Baylor VanDyk, and Grant VanDyk.

Bill worked for many years at Rockwell International and was also the owner of the Putt Hutt Mini Golf in Otsego. He enjoyed traveling with Joan, wood working, fishing, good movies and reading. Bill was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church. He loved his faith, family and friends.

Bill's family will have visitation on Monday, December 22, 2025 from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM at Blessed Sacrament Church in Allegan. Mass will follow at 11:00 AM.
