of Allegan died Tuesday, July 6, 2010, at the Holland Community Hospital. Mr. Northrup was born December 8, 1922, in Chicago, the son of O.E. and Louise (McIntyre) Northrup. Bill was a Veteran of the United States Army, having served during WWII, stationed in Italy as a Military Policeman. He was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd, where he was a Vestryman and both a Jr. and Sr. Warden for over 30 years. He proudly served on many committees for Allegan, Planning, Parks, Tourism and Oakwood Cemetery Board. He spent over 45 years in retail downtown, at both the Grange Store and McGowans. Bill and his wife Joan loved antiques, they spent many hours together going to estate sales, and as antique dealers, were involved with many antique malls, most recently the Blue Star Pavilion. Surviving are his "bride" of 60 years, Joan, his son, Jeff and Julie Northrup of Holland, 2 grandchildren, Paul and Leah, his brother, Bob Northrup of New York, 1 sister, Louise Perrigo of Holland, many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his brother, Richard, brother-in-law, Paul Perrigo, 2 sisters-in-law, Alison and Beverly, 1 nephew, Robert, and his niece, Stephanie. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, July 13, at 11am at the Episcopal Church. Private interment in Oakwood Cemetery, Allegan. Memorials may be made to the Episcopal Church.
