Obituary

Allegan, Michigan,died Tuesday, October 25, 2005 at the Allegan General Hospital. Mr. Hastings was born January 18, 1929 in Allegan, the son of Everett and Sadie (Beagle) Hastings. He retired from James River Paper Mill in Parchment and had been a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean Conflict. He was well liked by everyone and a stranger to no one. Surviving are his wife, Mary; 2 children, Tom Hastings of Allegan and Dee (Mike) Knoll of Holland; 4 grandchildren, Bill Hastings, Chris (Kevin) Wiersma, Khaitlin Knoll and Jason Knoll; 1 sister, Betty (Perry) Enos of Zephyrhills, FL. He was preceded in death by his son, Bill in 1972, a brother, Roy Hastings in 1979 and his wife Doris Hastings in 2003. Friends may meet with the family from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Friday at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, where funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. Rev. G. Patrick White and Elder Earl Gillette officiating. Interment Millgrove Cemetery, Valley Twp. with military honors by the Otsego V.F.W. Post #3030. Memorial contributions may be made to Wings of Hope Hospice, Allegan County.
