William Charles "Chuck" Rewalt II, 63 of Allegan, passed away Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at Borgess Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. Chuck was born December 15, 1953 in Allegan, Michigan, the son of Merle Lee and the late Sonya Rewalt. Those who knew Chuck, knew that he lived life to its fullest. Anyone he met instantly became a friend. People just gravitated toward him in good times and bad. He had many interests: photography, animals, fishing, Facebook. After 35 years, Chuck retired from the Allegan County Corrections, where he was also in the Search and Rescue serving in the scuba diving area. He loved camping with friends and kayaking and was a back-roads cruising junky with Kevin. He enjoyed golfing and bowling with his family and playing on the pool league. He absolutely loved playing pranks and scaring friends and family. He loved to meet and watch people. Life will not be the same without him around, but the joy and happiness that he brought to all who knew him will live on in the abundant memories. Chuck is survived by his wife of 37 years, Kathy; their children, Austin Rewalt and Amber (Jim) Birmingham; grandsons, Blake and Samson Zimmerman; granddaughter, Joy Birmingham; his father and step-mother, Merle and Sue Rewalt; sisters, Robin Rewalt and Roxanne Fluent; step-brother, Bill (Natalie) Cronkhite; nieces, Grace and Shelly; nephews, Andy, Steve, Remy and Brady; aunts, Virginia Marfia, Joan Bass, Alice Rewalt; uncle, Bob (Trish) Rewalt; cousin, Kevin Eichler and numerous other cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother, Sonya Germaine; nephew, Ivan Warren; aunt, Marcia (Doug) Hooker, Victoria (Joe) Newby, Geri (Lyle) Eichler; and uncle, Stan Rewalt. Friends may meet with the family on Saturday, December 9, 2017 from 12:00 - 2:00 PM at Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel with a Celebration of Life to be held at 2:00 PM. Memorial donations may be made in Chuck's name to the Shriners Hospital (Attn: Office of Development, 2900 N. Rocky Point Dr., Tampa, FL 33607) and the American Heart Association (3940 Peninsular Dr. SE # 180, Grand Rapids, MI 49546).
