Obituary

ALDRICH, William Allegan, MI, died Thursday, Jan. 31, 2002. Mr. Aldrich was born Feb. 11, 1918 in Detroit, the son of Frank and Anna (Ludtke) Aldrich. He was a graduate of Allegan High School Class of 1936, and was very involved in organizing, and providing music, for his class reunions. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during WWII, having served on the U.S.S. James O'Hara. He was a charter member of the Allegan Eagles Aerie #2315, a life member of the Allegan V.F.W. Post #3667 and a member of the American Legion Oscar Briggs Post #89. He had been employed by Rockwell Intl. for 30 years, retiring in 1981. He was a very giving, generous person and loved telling stories and jokes and shooting pool at Wayne's. He had been an avid bowler and was on the All Star Team. Surviving are his wife, Sarah (Hodge); 1 son, Alan Aldrich of Allegan; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may meet with the family from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, where funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. Pastor Joseph Spackman officiating. Interment Oakwood Cemetery, with military honors by the Otsego V.F.W. Post 3030. Memorial contributions may be made to the United Methodist Church.
