of Allegan, died Thursday, May 7, 2009 at the Allegan General Hospital. Mr. Hayes was born May 7, 1923, in Allegan, the son of Willard E. and Thelma Mae (Helsel) Hayes. He was also raised by his stepdad, Allen Wood. Willard was a Veteran of the United States Army, having served during WWII. He was employed by Rockwell for 30 years before retiring in the early 70's. Surviving are his daughter, Corlee and Ron Harris of Allegan; 7 grandchildren; 12 great- grandchildren and several great- great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Margaret Sturgis of Allegan; 2 sisters-in-law, Theo and Ken Plotts of Allegan and Vi Bussey of Mt. Morris; 1 daughter-in-law, Doris Adrianson of AZ; several nieces and nephews, 2 honorary daughters, Norma and Bill Broadhurst of TX and Susan Boals of FL. He was preceded in death by his wife, Reva, who passed on Jan. 12, 2009, his son, Larry, his great- granddaughter, Kathryn and his infant brother, Bernard. A graveside service to honor both Willard and Reva, will be held on Friday, May 15th at 2 p.m. at Hudson Corners Cemetery, Allegan Twp. Pastor Robert Stover will officiate.
