Allegan Twp., MI, died Sunday, June 4, 2006 at the Allegan General Hospital. Mrs. Jones was born July 9, 1913 in Watson Twp., the daughter of Otto and Mable (Martin) Wendt. In 1939, she married Donn J. Jones who preceded her in death in 2004. In her early years, she worked for Baker Furniture in Holland and the Allegan Health Dept. She then went to work for the Allegan County Road Commission for 27 years, retiring in 1977. Surviving are two sons, Rodger and Rita Jones and Dann Jones, all of Allegan; 2 grandsons and their wives, Rick and Diane Jones of Allegan and Randy and Debbie Jones of East Lansing; 4 great grandchildren, Rachel, Ryan, Luke and Max; 3 sisters, Ruth Newman of Florida, Ethel and Max Miller of Allegan, and Norma and Jack Aberegg of Pennsylvania; several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by 2 brothers and 4 sisters, Ronald and Herbert Wendt, Margaret Black, Mary Hiscock, Hazel Bellingar and Janet Whitcomb. Friends may meet with the family from 11 a.m. Wednesday until time of service at 1 p.m. at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel. Rev. Fr. Jerome M. Heyman, O.S.A. officiating.
