Obituary

Hopkins Twp., MI, died Tuesday, April 18, 2006 at the Allegan County Medical Care Facility. Mr. Krug was born September 7, 1928 in Hopkins, the son of Jacob and Olga (Poppe) Krug. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during the Korean Conflict. He was a 1947 graduate of Hopkins High School, a member of the Hopkins Community Reformed Church and a charter member of the Allegan Draft Horse and Mule Assoc. He was a dairy farmer for 40 years, an MMPA field inspector for 13 years, and had operated Krug Brother's Milk Hauling for 26 years. Surviving are his wife June (Davis) whom he married August 31, 1957; 3 daughters, Beverly Areaux of Hopkins, Carrie Krug of Otsego and Amy and Major Matthew Medlock, USAF, Retired, of Florida; 9 grandchildren; 1 brother and 1 sister, Oscar Krug of Plainwell and Martha Morris of Hopkins; 2 sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Krug of Hopkins and Shirley Krug of Dorr; several nieces, nephews and cousins; best friends, Boots and Goober. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Fred and Carl. Friends may meet with the family from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Friday at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Hopkins Chapel. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Hopkins Community Reformed Church. Pastor Mark Kamper officiating. Interment Maplewood Cemetery, Hopkins Twp. with military graveside services by the Otsego V.F.W. Post #3030. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hopkins Community Reformed Church Ladies of the Lord or to the Allegan Co. Medical Care Facility.
