Boettner, Walter F., Hopkins, died Wednesday, May 28, 2003 at the Allegan General Hospital. Mr. Boettner was born January 31, 1929 in Sheboygan, WI, the son of Walter A. & Mildred (Lulu) Boettner. Walter was a Veteran of the United States Navy and was a member of the George Wagner American Legion Post 127 in Dorr. He had been employed by Packaging Corp. Of America for over 36 years before retiring in 1989. Surviving are his wife, Betty, 4 children, Susanne Hamacher of Kalamazoo, Charles & Debra Ann Boettner of Wyoming, Gerald Boettner of Hopkins and Mark Boettner of Grand Rapids, 6 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, 1 brother, Kenneth & Gretchen Boettner of Allendale, 3 sisters, Virginia Culver of Kentwood, Geraldine Johnson of Rockford & Marilyn & Thomas Moorman of White Cloud. He was preceded in death by his son Dennis in 1995. In accordance with his wishes cremation has taken place and their will be no services.
