Obituary

Allegan, MI, died Monday, January 14, 2008 at the Allegan County Medical Care Facility. Mrs. Duryea was born May 24, 1913 in Monterey Twp., MI, the daughter of Gerald Grover and Anna (Westfall) Gibson. She was a member of the Allegan United Methodist Church, loved and always cared for her family, enjoyed playing golf and gardening. Surviving are 3 daughters and 1 son, Jacque and Jimmy James of Allegan, Doug and Shirley Duryea of Otsego, Lu Ann and Tom Cooke of Florida and Wende and Gene Wood of Allegan; 14 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren; 2 brothers and 1 sister, Woodrow Gibson of Allegan, George and Jean Gibson of Allegan and Ardes Nahikian of Iowa. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph. Friends may meet with the family from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16, at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel. A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 2, 2008 at 11 a.m. at the Allegan United Methodist Church. Pastor Robert Stover officiating. Contributions may be made to the Allegan United Methodist Church/Kids Hope Program, the Allegan County Medical Care Facility and Wings of Hope Hospice.
