90, of Hopkins, died Friday, August 30, 2013 at Woodlawn Meadows, Hastings, Michigan. She was born October 11, 1922 in Krem, North Dakota, the oldest of ten children to Albert and Ida (Wolf) Grosz. Violet married Leo Kerber on August 19, 1944 in Hazen, North Dakota. Violet helped establish and work the family farm. Leo and Violet are the reason the family farm is what it is today. She also worked as an aide at the Allegan County Medical Care Community, and was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Hopkins for many years. Violet is survived by her five children: Dallas (Mimi Gabriel) Kerber, Patricia (Joe) Kovacevich, Ronald (Lou Ann) Kerber, Rodney (Anita) Kerber, Janet Kerber-Lindstrom; her eight grandchildren: Chris, Liane, Nathan, Jessica, Nicole, Kelly, Kyle, Mitchell; her twelve great-grandchildren; her eight step-grandchildren; her fourteen step-great-grandchildren; her four sisters: Florence Langen, Darlene (Hubert) Miller, Arlys (David) Edstrom, Karen Kay Ulwelling; her two brothers: Byron (Leatisze) Grosz, Archie (Esther) Grosz; one sister-in-law Doris Grosz; and friend Ann Grosz; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her husband Leo; her parents; her sister Delores (Ruben) Baier; two brothers: Marvin and Gene; and her grandson Dion Lee Kerber. Friends may meet with the family on Sunday, September 8, 2013 at Gorden Funeral Residence, Hopkins Chapel, from 3-6:00 P.M. In accordance with Violet's wishes, the Funeral will be held at Gorden Funeral Residence, Hopkins Chapel, on Monday, September 9, 2013 at 11:00 A.M.
