Allegan, MI, died Tuesday, October 9, 2007 at Life Care Center in Plainwell. Mrs. Wilson was born April 1, 1920 in Cleveland Heights, OH, the daughter of Ralph and Helen (Bluhm) Ammerman. She was a 1939 graduate of Cleveland Heights High School. She graduated from Wooster College and Case Western Reserve, both in Ohio, receiving her B.S.R.N. degree. She had been employed at Allegan General Hospital as a registered Nurse for many years, retiring in 1980, and had developed many lasting friendships that she spoke about often. She had attended the Allegan United Methodist Church. She and her husband, Lee, often went on trips to gather fossils and artifacts, or to enjoy carvings and artwork of wildlife. She was an avid genealogist, with a wide correspondence across the nation, and spent many hours at the Allegan Public Library researching information for families. She was co-author of genealogy books and often attended the lectures of historians such as John Pahl and Larry Massey. She hosted several visitors to Allegan who were seeking more information about their ancestors, one of whom was Lt. Col. "B.C." Thomas, a famous pilot of the SR-71 "Blackbird" spy plane. She was an avid tennis fan, which inspired her son to greatness on the courts. Surviving are 2 sons, Ralph Wilson of Washington D.C. and Larry and Donna Wilson of Colorado; 1 granddaughter, Sarah Ashlee Wilson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herrick Lee, daughter, Connie, and 2 sisters, Marjorie and Ruth. Friends may meet with the family from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel. Memorial services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Christ Community Church. Rev. G.
