Hopkins, MI, died Tuesday, September 7, 2004 at Butterworth Hospital, Grand Rapids. Mrs. McEwen was born March 25, 1930 in Salem Twp., the daughter of George and Laura (Green) Beck. She was a 1948 graduate of Hopkins High School. Surviving are her husband, Robert, whom she married August 18, 1949; 5 children, Karen Hurwitz of Virginia, Robert McEwen of Hopkins, David McEwen of Otsego, Laura McEwen of Wyoming, MI, and Kelly (Michelle) McEwen of Wayland; 12 grandchildren; 1 great grandson; 1 brother and 6 sisters. There will be no visitation or services. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mark Arnsman Memorial Scholarship Fund at Hopkins High School.
