Vernie M. (Tiller) Harris, 92 of Allegan, died Monday, August 2, 2004 at Stanford Lodge, Plainwell. Mrs. Harris was born March 2, 1912 in Bloomfield, MO the daughter of Olive and Nora (Chasteen) Graves. She had been a cook for Hopkins Public Schools for many years. Surviving are 6 children and their spouses, Charles & Marge Tiller of Portage, Robert & Cheryl Tiller of Crossville, TN, Audrey & John Neese of Allegan, Delbert & Linda Tiller of Gobles, Sandra & John Sibson of Climax, Roger & Sandra Tiller of Hudsonville; 4 stepchildren, Raymond & Geraldine Harris of Allegan, Carl & Janet Harris of Eau Claire, Bernard & Millie Harris of Allegan, Gayla & Monte Mitteer of New Era; 17 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren;1 great great grandson; 8 step grandchildren; several step great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by husbands, Roger Tiller in 1987 and Ernie Harris in 2004, 2 brothers and 4 sisters. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6-8 pm at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, where services will be held Friday 11:00 am.
