Cheshire Twp., Allegan, MI, died Tuesday, May 6, 2003 at the Allegan County Medical Care Facility. Mr. Cartwright was born Sept. 7, 1914 in Scotts, MI, the son of Ernest and Mary (Harris) Cartwright. He had worked as a Postal Supervisor in Longley, CO, retiring in 1973. Surviving are 3 children, Kenneth and Jane Cartwright of Allegan, Sue Vander Horst of Marietta, GA, and Rodney Cartwright and Billie Taylor of Lawrence; 12 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Erlene, 2 children, Douglas Cartwright and Shirley Grant, 2 brothers and 1 sister. The family will greet friends at the home of Kenneth Cartwright, 1071 41st St., Allegan, from 4-7 p.m., where a brief memorial service and prayer will be held at 5 p.m. with a luncheon following.
