Veda Viola Miller, 101, of Allegan, MI passed away Thursday, April 15, 2021 at Allegan County Medical Care Community. Born November 21, 1919 in Palestine, IL, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Minnie Pearl (Jenkins) Oisten.
Veda married the love of her life Wayne "Sparky" Miller and raised their two sons, Grover "Bill" and Stanley "Butch" in Allegan. They owned Johnson Sandwich Company and sold the company after Wayne's death. Veda continued to work at Johnson Sandwich. She later moved on to work at Orlo's Deli in downtown Allegan. Veda loved to bake and most all of Allegan enjoyed her baked goods from Orlo's. Veda loved her family and enjoyed watching her grandchildren play sports. She also enjoyed golf, bowling, bingo, family card games and going to the Allegan County Fair.
Veda leaves behind a loving family. She is survived by her son, Stanley (Saree) Miller; daughter-in-law, Kathy Remington; grandchildren, Parry (Julie) Miller, Penny (Carey) VanDellen, Jenny (Justin) Clark, Shannen (John Mundt) Miller, and Jacob (Angela) Miller; great-grandchildren, Chelsea (Kyle) Barker, Erika Miller, Alexandria VanDellen, and Christian (CJ) VanDellen; great-great-granddaughter, Kira Barker; sisters, Violet (Art) Steinman and Maxine Shipman; and brothers, Donald (Dorothy) Oisten and Chester (Marilyn) Oisten.
Veda was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Miller; her son, Grover Miller; her parents, Charles and Minnie Oisten; and four brothers, Vernon Oisten, Charles Oisten, David Oisten and Gerald Oisten.
The family will hold a private graveside service where Veda will be laid to rest beside Wayne in Oakwood Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Congregational Church of Allegan's Congregational Kitchen, 323 Cutler Street, Allegan, MI 49010. Service Details. Interment
