Toreen M. Sherwood, 75, of Cape Coral, Florida, formerly of Allegan, Michigan, passed away Monday, March 28, 2016 at Kindred Hospital in Tampa, Florida. Ms. Sherwood was born in Alamo, Michigan on March 26, 1940, the daughter of the late Eugene and Nell (Cooley) Sherwood. Toreen spent most of her life living in Allegan, but for the last three years she was able to live in Florida and enjoyed her time close to the water. She truly loved being by water, listening to the waves and feeling the cool mist. Going to the casino, preferably to win, was one of Toreen's favorite activities, but she enjoyed the atmosphere and the game just as well. Spending time riding her bike or playing cards with friends and family were always some of her preferred pleasures. Toreen treasured her family and her time with them. She will be missed, but the special memories made will be cherished by those close to her. Toreen is survived by six of her children: Rema Pinnell and Rocky Smith, David Pinnell and Merlie Duncan, Alan and Jodi Pinnell; Kelly and Melissa Pinnell, Sonja Pinnell, and Tamara Thomas; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and one brother, Romaine "Butch" Sherwood. She was preceded in death by her son, Rusty Pinnell; granddaughter, Melissa; and two brothers, Gene and Larry Sherwood. Friends may meet with the family on Saturday, April 2nd from 12 - 1 PM at Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, where the funeral service will be held at 1 PM, Pastor Adrian Hall officiating.
