Obituary

Timothy "Tim" Cloud, peacefully passed away at Rose Arbor in Kalamazoo, Michigan on February 19, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on March 3,1952 in South Haven, Michigan, Tim was the son of Mildred Stafford and John A. Cloud. He was a man known for his sense of humor, his warm heart, and dedication to family. Tim loved coaching young athletes, and he had a natural ability to make friends wherever he went.

Tim was Sherry’s beloved husband of 46 years. Together, they shared a life full of love, laughter, and adventures. Tim was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and uncle who cherished his time with family. One of his greatest joys was beating his nephews at a game of basketball. If they ever got close to beating him, he would talk trash and throw them off their game and then laugh about beating them.

Throughout his life, Tim enjoyed hunting and fishing, basketball, being with family, and helping others. Tim was a gifted athlete. At Bangor High School, he was awarded All- State Honors in both football and basketball. During his college days Tim was selected as All- American in basketball. He worked for years as an autobody professional owning his own shop named “Colors," in Plainwell, Mi. for many years. Tim and his brother-in-law Elton started Jazzy’s Catering, cooking Creole food at summer festivals around southwest Michigan. Tim ended his working life at Sam’s Club where fellow employees called him, “The Mayor” because so many customers would come in and ask for him. He was highly respected and liked by his colleagues. Through the years, Tim coached softball and later

girls' high school basketball in Lawton and girls AAU where he was loved for his humility, guidance, and encouragement.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sherry; their daughters, Jasmine and India Cloud, grandchildren; Isabella, Brielle and Gianni; brothers, John Yelding, Walter Cloud, Cameron Cloud, Jim Cloud and sisters, Vivian Cloud and Jackie Smith; aunts, Velma (Stafford) Cloud and Erma Stafford-Chastine; his best friends and beloved brothers-in-laws, David Thomas (Holly) and Elton Thomas (Katherine). He leaves behind cousins, nieces, and nephews that he loved deeply to cherish his memory.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mildred Stafford, his father, John A. Cloud, a brother, Clifford Henry Stafford and his aunt, Phillis Stafford.

A celebration of Tim’s life will be held at Christ Community Church, 3370-113th Ave. Allegan, Michigan 49010 on April 25th. The family will be available from 11:30am-12:00pm prior to the memorial service that will start at noon. He will be buried at Rowe Cemetery in Cheshire Township. The Repass will immediately follow the burial.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Bangor Alumni Foundation or to Fox Music Center in Kalamazoo in memory of Tim.

Friends and family are invited to share memories and condolences on the Gorden Funeral Home tribute website.
