Allegan, MI, died Monday, February 4, 2008 at Rose Harbor Hospice Residence, Oshtemo Twp. Mr. Schweikert was born May 12, 1947 in Allegan, the son of Maxwell and Norine (Duryea) Schweikert. He was a 1965 graduate of Allegan High School. He had served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, and was a member of the Vietnam Veterans of America, Holland Chapter and the Hopkins V.F.W. He had been employed at Michigan Gas in Otsego for 33 years. Surviving are 2 daughters and their husbands, Cindy and Lance Beard of Allegan and Cammy and Eric Stanislawski of Ramsy; 3 grandchildren, Tyler, Chase and Brooke; 2 nephews and 1 niece. He was preceded in death by his sister, Carolyn Deffenbough. Friends may meet with the family from 5-7 p.m. Thursday at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, where funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. Rev. G. Patrick White officiating. Interment Hudson Corners Cemetery, Allegan Twp. with military honors by the Otsego V.F.W. Post #3030. Memorial contributions may be made to Rose Harbor Hospice Residence.
