of Allegan, died Saturday, August 24, 2013, at the Wings Home in Allegan. Mr. Piwowar was born March 5, 1935, in Chicago, the son of John and Julia (Lachor) Piwowar. Ted graduated from Michigan State University in 1957. He was a Veteran of the United States Army, serving as a Captain. He was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus for the past 48 years. Ted worked for the United States Dept. of Agriculture, Soil Conservation Service for over 38 years. During retirement he worked for the Michigan Wildlife Conservancy for 20 years. Surviving are his wife, Dolores, his 4 children; Regina, John, Matthew, Teresa, 3 grandchildren; Travis, Amy, Julia, 2 great grandchildren; William and Travis, his sister, Mary Madejczyk, several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his 2 sisters; Jane and Julia. Friends may meet with the family on Tuesday, August 27, 2013, from 6-8 pm at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, where the Rosary will be recited at 6:30. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Wednesday at 11 am at the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Rev. Fr. Alan P. Jorgensen Celebrant. Interment at the Church Cemetery.
