Hunter, F.R. "Ted", Allegan, MI, died at his home Wednesday, January 28, 2004. Mr. Hunter was born June 30, 1913 in Minneapolis, MN, the son of Fredrick R. & Alice (Brackett) Hunter. He graduated from High School in Evanston, IL, and went on to graduate from Miami University where he was a member of D.K.E. In 1939, Ted married Julie Kane who preceded him in death in 1973. In 1947 he bought the Western Auto Store in Allegan and retired in 1990. He was a Charter member of the Monroe Park Assoc. in South Haven, and loved the Lake Michigan shoreline. Surviving are 4 children & their spouses, Rick & Sharon Hunter of Allegan, Nan & Bob Vincent of Good Hart, Tom & Rosie Hunter of Allegan and Jane Hunter of Zeeland; 7 grandchildren, Tom, John, and Bill Doyle, Sarah & David Klein, Beth & Bob Loftus, Laura & Morgan Sullivan and Annie Hunter; 7 great grandchildren, Hunter, Jonathan, Ben, Emma, Veronica, Thomas and Roxanne; 1 brother-in-law, Frank Kane of VA; several nieces and nephews, and a special friend, Mary Hearn. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Jane Hanley. In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place, there will be no visitation. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Interment Oakwood Cemetery, Allegan. Memorial donations to the Allegan Education Foundation or the Julie K. Hunter Christmas Party C/O Episcopal Church in Allegan.
