Martin, MI, died at his home, Monday, September 7, 2009. Stephen was born September 28, 1952, in Flint, the son of Clarence E. and Lillian M. (Phillips) Kimberlin. He graduated from Comstock Park High School in 1970 and received his Liberal Arts Degree from GRCC, and his Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from Ferris. He was employed by Martin Transportation Systems, MTS, in Grand Rapids for the past 13 years. He loved his family and his friends, and inspired others with words of encouragement. He appreciated the simple things in life, he loved music, singing, Red Wings, and was one of the last Lion's fans. Surviving are his wife, Gale (Nowakowski), whom he married in Grand Rapids on September 22, 1979; 2 daughters and their husbands, Renae and Jon Hooper of Byron Center and Erin and Shannon VanderZee of Standale; 2 grandchildren, Makayla and Stephen; his mother, Lillian Kimberlin of Comstock Park, father, Clarence and Marilyn Kimberlin of Rockford; 2 brothers, Ron and Deb Kimberlin of Wyoming and Dennis and Betsy Kimberlin of Ada; 1 sister, Laura and Jim McKay of Comstock Park; 6 nieces and nephews, Luke, Mark and Rose, Jean, Michael and Nicole, Sarah, Sean and Samantha; several aunts, uncles and cousins. Friends may meet with the family from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, where a memorial service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. Pastor Michael Stowell officiating.
