age 16, of Hopkins, MI, died Monday, December 8, 2003. Stephanie Leigh was born June 17, 1987 in Kalamazoo, MI, the daughter of Larry and Julie (Hazen) Switek. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She had attended St. Stanislaus Catholic School from kindergarten through eighth grade and was in the eleventh grade class of Hopkins High School. She worked part time at Subway in Dorr. She played volleyball and basketball and loved dance. She was on the Student Council and was active in SADD, PALS, and Young Life. Surviving are her parents, Larry and Julie of Hopkins; sister, Rachel; grandparents, Ruth and Jim Hazen and Alice and Ken Brenner, all of Hopkins; 7 aunts and uncles, Janet and Rick Merren of Wayland, Ken Switek, Bob and Sue Hazen, Terry and Darrell Ratliff, all of Hopkins, Tom and Tracy Iciek of Allegan, Jaime and Marlene Schaendorf, and Rick and Michelle Hazen, all of Hopkins; 14 cousins, Sandy, Lisa, Nick, Heather, Jeff, Justin, Katie, Brad, Hannah, Charlie, Lilly, Emma, Alex, and Olivia; several great aunts and uncles; her boyfriend, Josh Lanser. She was preceded in death by Grandpa Norb and Uncle Paul. Friends may meet with the family from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Hopkins Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Hilliards. Rev. Fr. Jim Vinh Le and Rev. Fr. Larry Kroll, Celebrants. Interment in the Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Stanislaus Catholic School.
