of Monterey Twp., Hopkins, died Thursday, August 14, 2014, at his home surrounded by his family. Mr. Navis was born June 2, 1950, in Monterey Twp., the son of Otto and Sarah Iola (Miller) Navis. Stan graduated from Hopkins High School in 1968, and had worked for over 30 years for G.M. in Grand Rapids. He loved woodworking, fishing, and driving the Hopkins Public School Bus. Stan married Julia Nell Martin who survives, on August 7, 2001 in Rochester, MN. Also surviving are 4 children: Brenda and Clint Merritts, Dawn Navis, Linnea Shelly, Lori and Kurt Miller, 7 grandchildren; 3 brothers: Cliff and Jan Navis, Gordie and Mary Navis, Boyd and Chris Navis; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his brother, Ken. Friends may meet with the family on Monday, August 18, 2014, from 5-8 pm, at the Gorden Funeral Residence, ALLEGAN Chapel, where funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 1 pm.
