of Hopkins. Passed away Friday, January 20, 2012. Age 85 years. He was born May 1, 1926, the son of the late Stanley and Bessie (Rybiski) Hilaski. He worked for the Hopkins Public Schools for 26 years, retiring in 1986. He was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church. He enjoyed baseball, softball, football, bowling, hunting, fishing and playing cards. He was an avid fan of the Detroit Tigers, Detroit Lions and Notre Dame University. Stanley was married to Esther (Hoerner) Hilaski on June 28, 1947; she survives him. Surviving besides his wife are six children, Leo (Shirley) Hilaski of Hopkins, Gary Hilaski of Hopkins, Diane Hilaski of Hopkins, Mark (Kathy) Hilaski of Hopkins, Karen (Lyle) Thompson of Allegan and Philip (Dawn) Hilaski of Hopkins; 14 grandchildren, Jeff, Julie, John, Karolynn, Kristopher, Jamie, Ashley, Brandon, Jena, Brett, Tara, Holly, Rachel and Trevor; 5 great-grandchildren, Christian, Devin, Avery, Alyssa and Kayla; one brother, Carl (Jan) Hilaski of California; one sister, Dorothy (Arnold) Adamczyk of Hopkins; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by 13 brothers and sisters. Friends may visit with the family from 2:00 - 4:00 & 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Hopkins Chapel, where a rosary service will take place at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mass of christian burial will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. Anthony Bitchapogu will officiate with burial in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Stanislaus Parish.
