Austin, TX, formerly of Allegan, died Friday, Christmas morning, in Texas. Stacy was born Jan. 29, 1959, the son of Nancy (Cook) Clair of Ft. Myers, FL and Ron Clair of Sarasota, FL. Also surviving are his brother, Kelly Clair, of Charlotte, NC; nieces, Spencer and Flannery Clair of Charlotte, NC; maternal grandmother, Helen Cook, of Kalamazoo. He is also survived by his long-time companion, Stacey Sheridan, and her son, Parker Sheridan. After growing up in Southwest Michigan (Allegan), Stacy attended and graduated with a BA in Business Administration Phi Beta Kappa from Southern Methodist University. After working in the family business, Flashes Publishers, Inc., Stacy attended and graduated with a MBA from the University of Texas at Austin. He spent the majority of his working life as an investor. Among his passions, were skiing in Aspen, and golf. He was a voracious reader and an avid lover of music and movies, and had traveled the world. A gathering in Stacy's honor will be held at The Beacon Club, 5830 Portage Rd., Portage, MI 49002, on Saturday, January 2, 2010 at 11 a.m. An Austin, TX gathering is also being planned.
