of Allegan, formerly of Detroit, died Monday May 28, 2012, at his home. Mr. Heathman was born November 27, 1921, in Paris, Missouri, the son of Frank and Ruth (Morgan) Heathman. Sidney was a Veteran of the United States Army / Airforce, serving in WWII. He was a Fireman in the City of Detroit, for over 22 years, retiring in 1969. His co-workers referred to him as, "Mr. Field & Stream" as he loved the outdoors, and was a avid hunter and fisherman. He also loved his dogs, both hunting and companion. Surviving are his 4 children; Douglas and Judy Heathman of Washington, Darlene Heathman of New Mexico, Patricia and Mark Renaud of Kalamazoo, and Frank Heathman of Allegan, 6 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, his sister, Betty and Charles Vest of Missouri, several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lorraine. Sid has been cremated. There will be no public services. Memorials may be made to the Wings Home in Allegan.
