Shirley Joyce (Witsaman) Cook went to be with her Lord and Savior May 31, 2022, surrounded by her family. Shirley was born December 14, 1932, in Kendallville, Indiana, to John and Ethel (Workman) Witsaman. Shirley loved her family and friends dearly. Shirley was kind, loving, and compassionate to anyone she met. She considered her close friends her family. Shirley loved Jesus with her whole heart, and it reflected in her life. Shirley is missed deeply, and she will continue to be on our hearts and minds forever. Shirley was married to Kenneth Cook for 48 years before he passed in 2008. Shirley loved her son in law Jim and friend Chris Cronk. Shirley considered her son in law Jim and friend Chris Cronk the sons she always wanted. They were loyal, loving, and caring always. The family wishes to thank Amazing Grace Fellowship Church of Portage for all the love and friendship they have provided over the years to the family. The family also thanks the incredible caregivers and staff at Plainwell Pines Nursing Home and Centrica Hospice Navigators. We do not want to miss anyone as the list of individuals that provided comfort to Shirley and her daughter is numerous. I hope you know how much you are appreciated. Shirley is survived by her daughter Maribeth (Jim) Haseley; friend Chris Cronk, nieces Denise (Steve) Lewis, Christine (Ken) Carlson, and Dalene Murphy; great friends Sue and Jeff Sackett; along with Dutchess the Cat She is preceded in death by her parents John and Ethel (Workman) Witsaman; and husband Kenneth Cook as well as brother Bruce Witsaman. Funeral services for Shirley will be Friday, June 3, 2022, at Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel. Visitation will be from 11:00am - 12:00pm with the service starting at 12:00pm. There will be a procession following the service to Hillside Cemetery in Plainwell. Donations may be made to Plainwell Pines Nursing Home, Centrica Care Navigators, or Amazing Grace Fellowship Church in Portage, MI. Service Details.
