Shirley Anne Nevenzel

May 19, 1953 – December 10, 2023

Shirley Anne Nevenzel, 70, of Allegan, MI passed away Sunday, December 10, 2023, at Corewell Health Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids.  Born May 19, 1953, in Allegan, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd Gene and Leona Mae (Beck) Nevenzel and, great friends with Josh's father, the late Robbie Thompson.

Shirley was a member of Dunningville Reformed Church.  She retired from Magna Donnelly after 31 years of dedicated service.  Shirley enjoyed being in the kitchen and creating wonderful baked treats to share with loved ones.  She was also extremely talented with a crochet needle and could make anything you could dream up.  Shirley loved to travel and especially liked to walk the beaches looking for rocks to add to her collection.

Shirley was a loving and attentive aunt to her nieces and nephews and always made sure to remember all their birthdays and every other important event in their lives. She also cherished her sister-in-law, Linda; Aunt Linda Josh called her and was always glad to spend time with her cousins.

Shirley was a devoted mother to her son, Josh.  The greatest gift she ever received was when he arrived in the world on her birthday in 1992.

Shirley is survived by her son, Joshua Gene Nevenzel; siblings, Beverly (Thomas) Lieven and Bud (Linda) Nevenzel; and many, many nieces, and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Dunningville Reformed Church, 2559 Lincoln Road, Allegan on Friday, December 15, 2023, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM.  A funeral service will begin at 12:00 PM and Shirley will be laid to rest in Brookside Cemetery immediately following.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O.
