Shirley A. Goodsell, 84, of Allegan passed away Sunday, January 8, 2017 at the Allegan General Hospital. Born February 25, 1932 in Trowbridge Township, she was the daughter of the late Acel and Ila (Stewart) Hewitt and was the wife of Grant Goodsell. Mrs. Goodsell was a 1949 graduate of Allegan High School. She had worked as a secretary for Blood Brother's, Olcott's and the Allegan County Health Department. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Goodsell is survived by her children, Nan Leggett and Greg Goodsell; four grandchildren, Jamie and Mary Leggett, Jason and Jamie Leggett, Amanda Griffen and Taylor Goodsell; and five great-grandchildren, Bri, Evie, Tori, Chase and Taryn. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Deb; sister, Sharon Knobloch; and son-in-law, Rod Leggett. A memorial gathering will take place at Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Private burial will take place at Millgrove Cemetery.
