of Allegan, died Saturday, February 15, 2014, at her home. Sherry was born May 4, 1955, in Battle Creek, the daughter of Jimmy and Alberta (Lee) Chester. She graduated from Otsego High School in 1974, and had worked for Perrigo Co., in Allegan, for over 25 years, retiring in 2013. Surviving are her husband Jim, her children, Rick Schmidt and his girlfriend Brandi Smith, Mandy and Cory McCarter, Jamie Bassler, Cyndi and Wayne Harris, Justin Bassler, Tony Bassler, 12 grandchildren, 1 great grandson, her mother, Alberta Chester, 1 brother, Randy and Sherri Chester, her sister, Rebecca Chester, many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, Jimmy Chester. Friends may meet with the family on Friday, February 21, 2014, from 4-6 pm, at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, where the memorial service will be held at 6 pm.
