Sharon Rose Montgomery, 78 of Allegan, Michigan, passed away on Saturday, May 7, 2022, with her loving family by her side. Born September 27, 1943 in Chicago, Illinois, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Stella Kocsis and the wife of the late Kenneth Rae Montgomery. Sharon taught her family work ethic by working hard throughout her life and was an amazing woman who lived a very optimistic life, even though struggling through polio since the young age of 13, suffering the loss of three children and her husband, and then battling lung cancer as an adult. She was fortunate to be able to be home and surrounded by her family, always reminding them that life is what you make it and to remember your blessings. Others always commented on her beautiful smile which continued to shine throughout her hardships. Sharon had many activities that she enjoyed, going to the casino, shopping, playing bingo, camping, and especially drinking her favorite Coca-Cola! She also had two special little Shih-tzu dogs, Chloe (the mom) and Rocky (her pup) that she thoroughly spoiled and loved. Sharon's strong sense of family and the beautiful lessons she taught will be cherished and carried forward. Those left to treasure Sharon's memory are her children, Loraine Montgomery and Jeffrey Montgomery; her half-sibling, Camille Kocsis; nine grandchildren, Amanda Zeran, Tangela Ferris, Adrian Ferris, Spencer Ferris, Trevor Montgomery, Carter Montgomery, Tinliegh Montgomery, Jayden Montgomery, Kassie Renton; seven great-grandchildren, Paul, Laura, Emma, Ariana, TJ, Jace, and Kylo. Along with her parents and her husband, Sharon was preceded in death by her brother, Joseph Kocsis; and her children, Kelly Nadine Montgomery, Matthew Morgan Montgomery, and Joseph Adrian Montgomery. Friends may meet with the family at Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, on Friday, May 20, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, with the Memorial Service beginning at 6:00 PM. Inurnment will take place on Monday May 23, 2022, at 10:00am in Mallory Cemetery. Service Details.
