Sandra Kay Hitchcock, 72, of Allegan, MI passed away Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at her home. Born April 28, 1946 in Gaylord, MI, she was the daughter of the late Alva Eugene and Louise Maxine (Hopson) Jones and was the wife of the late Robert Leo Hitchcock. Mrs. Hitchcock was a member of the Allegan Eagles Club and the American Legion. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, putting together puzzles, fishing and playing bingo. Above all else, however, she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Hitchcock is survived by her children, Jim (Joyce) Vissers, Lisa Vissers and Shannon Meunier; siblings, Mike Jones (Barb Carpenter), Bruce Jones and Sherry (John) Thompson; eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Along with her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Alva Jones, Jr., Joyce Deniker and Neil Jones. The family will receive friends at Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, on Friday, November 16, 2018 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at which time a funeral service will begin. Pastor Ken Kruithoff will officiate. Private burial will take place at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to either the Allegan Eagles 2315, 110 Chestnut Street, Allegan, MI 49010; or the American Legion Post 89, 632 Eastern Avenue, Allegan, MI 49010. Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, is assisting the family with arrangements.
