Allegan

1:00 - 4:00 pm (Eastern time)
It is with unbelievable sadness that the family of Samantha Jo (Wehner) Krotz announce her passing. Samantha was a Wife, Daughter, Granddaughter, Sister, Niece, and—one of her favorite elements of her life—an Aunt. She embraced each of these roles with a full heart, giving her love freely and fiercely to everyone fortunate enough to be part of her world.
Samantha passed on August 28, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, laughter, and unwavering devotion to family and friends. Born on October 5, 1993, in Allegan, Michigan, she grew into a woman whose spirit was bright, compassionate, giving, and unforgettable. Her smile could light up a room, and her presence made every gathering warmer.
Samantha was a graduate of Allegan High School. She was very proud of becoming a CNA and loved caring for her residents with compassion and dedication. Her involvement with the Allegan Jaycees began at the age of two, where she met her lifelong friend, Kayleigh Gratz. Together, Sam and Kayleigh remained active in the Allegan, Michigan, and national Jaycees organizations.
Samantha held many leadership roles on both the local and state levels of JCI, growing from a very shy young woman into a true leader with confidence. She was currently serving as District B Director. She recently expanded her nonprofit involvement by being elected Vice President of the Auxiliary of the Allegan Eagles.
Family was the center of Samantha’s life. She loved her husband, cherished her parents, and held a special bond with her siblings. As an aunt, she shined—celebrating every milestone, offering endless encouragement, and creating memories that her nieces and nephews will carry forever. Samantha also adored her dogs, Sophie and Chance, and had a deep love for all animals. She loved traveling and especially cherished camping trips at Trout Lake in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, a place that brought her peace and joy.
She is survived by her husband, Christopher Krotz; her mother and stepfather, Donna and Scott Chenard; her father and stepmother, Lee and Amanda Wehner; her mother‑in‑law, Melissa Krotz; and her siblings: Joseph (Teresa) Ogston, Steven (Florencia) Wehner, Carl (Jenna) Chenard, Aaron Radcliffe, and Samantha (Mike) Pistis. She is also survived by her beloved nieces and nephews: Taylor, Erin, Nevaeh, Xavior, Braydon, Carter, Lincoln, Raegan, Marvin, and Anna, each of whom held a special place in her heart. She leaves behind many grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins whom she loved deeply.
A celebration of Samantha’s life will be held at the Allegan Eagles, 110 Chestnut St, Allegan, MI, on Saturday, September 19, from 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Allegan Jaycees or the Allegan Eagles Auxiliary to continue their charitable works in Samantha’s memory.
