Sally Ileene (Steele) Kipen, age 70, of Wayland, MI passed away Friday, June 29, 2018 at Green Acres Wayland. Born December 10, 1947 in Grand Rapids, she was the daughter of the late James and Dorothy (Almy) Steele. Besides her parents, Sally was preceded in death by her siblings, Robert Steele, Richard Steele, Lewis Steele, Frederick Steele, Randy Steele, and Marvin Steele; and her great granddaughter, Emma Rae Beals. She is survived by her children, Melissa (Rich) King, William Kipen Jr., Michelle (Eric) Harnish, Kristina Kipen, and James (Kelli) Kipen; her grandchildren, Jonathan Kipen, Tara King, Jason Kipen, April Kipen, Richard King, Marissa Jacobs, Mikayl Kipen, Hailey Kipen, Kendra Beals, ShyAnn Modrak, Chad Kipen, Brittany Kipen, James Kipen, Arielle Worden, Lexus Russell, Taylor Russell, and John Russell; her 14 great-grandchildren; her sisters, Jean Selby and Ruth (Arden) Adams; and her former husband, William Kipen Sr. The family will receive friends at Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, on Sunday, July 1, 2018 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM. There will be a Praying of the Rosary at 7pm following the visitation at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Alphonse Savarimuthu at 11:00am on Monday, July 2, 2018 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 433 Trowbridge Street in Allegan. Following the Mass, burial will take place in Poplar Hill Cemetery in Monterey Township. Memorial donations may be given to Kindred Hospice. Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, is assisting the family with arrangements.
