Allegan, MI, died Friday, July 20, 2007 at Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo. Mrs. Bartz was born April 12, 1928, the daughter of Royal and Honor (Houle) Smith. Sally was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church for many years and active in the Altar Society, having served as past President. She graduated from Muskegon High School. Sally and her husband,Joseph, owned and operated Bartz Agency for 39 years in Allegan. She spent some of her quiet time doing needlepoint and enjoyed making and giving her work to friends and family. Surviving are 4 children, Jan & Bill Morgan of Allegan, Jim & Pam Bartz of Kalamazoo, Maribeth & Steve Melnik of Otsego, Paul & Diane Bartz of Bloomingdale; 6 grandchildren, Carrie Morgan, Bryan & Abby Morgan, Ashley & John Burmeister, Kacey Melnik, Autumn Bartz and Jill Bartz, 1 great granddaughter, Kylee; 2 sisters, Lorraine Cranmer of Montague and Jan & Pat Cuddohy of Norton Shores; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph, and 4 sisters, Jean, Eileen, Peggy and Barbara. Friends may meet with the family on Friday (July 27) from 6-8 p.m. with the Rosary being recited at 6:30 p.m. at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel. Memorial Mass will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. Alan P. Jorgensen Celebrant. Interment at the Church Cemetery at a later date. A luncheon will take place following the Mass. Memorials may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society or St. Jude's Childrens Hospital.
